Pork Tinola Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs pork belly, cubed
  • 2 pcs medium sayote, wedged
  • 1 to 2 bunch fresh malunggay leaves, cleaned
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 4 cups rice washing
  • 32 oz beef broth
  • 2 thumbs ginger, julienned
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Pour and heat the cooking oil in a deep cooking pot.
  2. When the oil is hot enough, saute the garlic, ginger, and onion.
  3. Cook until the onion is soft.
  4. Put- in the pork and then cook for 5 minutes or until it browns.
  5. Add- in the ground black pepper then stir.
  6. Pour- in the beef broth then let it boil.
  7. Pour- in 1 cup of rice washing then allow the liquid to reboil.
  8. Cover and simmer for 45 to 60 minutes or until the pork becomes tender.
  9. Add- in the remaining rice washing once the pork is tender then allow to reboil.
  10. Add- in the sayote and cook for 5 minutes.
  11. Pour- in the fish sauce and stir.
  12. Add- in the malunggay leaves.
  13. Cover the cooking pot and then turn off the heat.
  14. Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
