INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup saltine crackers (Sky Flakes or Magic Flakes), finely crushed
- 2 cups milk
- 5 eggs
- 1 dayap rind, grated
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
HOW TO COOK:
- In a sauce pan, combine together the crackers, milk, and eggs.
- Cook until the mixture becomes thick.
- Add the dayap rind and 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar then stir.
- Pour mixture into a shallow dish.
- Sprinkle top with the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar.
- Heat up a steel turner (siyenseng bakal) until it is very (flaming) hot.
- Use the steel turner to scorch the surface of the cake until the sugar topping turns into a deep amber caramel.
- Cut and serve. Enjoy!
