Pakbit Manyaman Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/3 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/3 cup pork meat, sliced
  • 1/4 cup okra, sliced
  • 1/4 cup eggplant, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sitaw, cut into 2″ long
  • 1/4 cup ampalaya, sliced
  • 1/4 cup squash, sliced
  • 4 tbsp UFC tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp lime soda (Sprite or 7-Up)
  • 2 tbsp beer
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp bagoong/ alamang
  • 1 tbsp annatto oil (atsuete)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Blanch all the vegetables then set aside.
  2. Boil the pork meat in a small amount of water until tender then set aside.
  3. In a cooking pan, saute the garlic and onion in olive oil.
  4. Add the boiled pork, shrimps and bagoong and stir constantly.
  5. Add the tomato sauce, then the blanched vegetables.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Add in the annatto oil, lime soda, and beer.
  8. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice. Enjoy!
