Kababayan Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups all- purpose flour
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 cans (14 oz each), sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup softened butter (room temperature)
  • 4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 & 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup warm water
  • yellow food coloring
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Start by pre- heating the oven to 190 C or 374 F.
  2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine the sugar, salt, cream of tartar, and soft butter then blend for 4 mins at lowest speed.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all- purpose flour, cake flour, and baking powder then stir.
  4. In another bowl, combine the vanilla, water, yellow  food colour. and condensed milk then stir.
  5. In large mixing bow, combine all three mixtures along with oil and mix until it forms a smooth batter.
  6. Grease muffin cups and fill with 1/2 cup of the batter
  7. Bake for 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in cake center comes out clean.
  8. When the muffin is almost done, turn off the oven and partially open the oven door for another 5 minutes before taking out the muffins.
  9. Let it cool and transfer to serving plate. Enjoy!
