Bukayo Rice Puto Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • Bukayong pino
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 & 1/2 cup water
  • 1 & 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp baking powder

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Soak the rice in water overnight.
  2. Grind the soaked rice until you reach a consistency of a thick batter.
  3. Add the sugar, salt, and baking powder and mix thoroughly.
  4. Pour the mixture into puto molds until 1/3 full.
  5. Add a spoonful of the bukayo.
  6. Cover with more of the puto mixture.
  7. Arrange in a steamer and steam for 30 minutes or if a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Remove from molds and serve. Enjoy!
