INGREDIENTS:
- 1 & ½ lb pork belly, cut into serving pieces
- 10 pcs sitaw (string beans), cut into 2″ length pieces
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 & ½ tbsp vinegar
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 medium onion
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 & ½ tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
HOW TO COOK:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the pork, soy sauce, ground black pepper, and garlic then mix well.
- Let the pork soak in the mixture for about 15 minutes.
- Heat up oil in a cooking pot.
- Sauté the onion until it gets soft.
- Add the marinated pork including the remaining soy sauce and garlic.
- Cook for 5 minutes in medium heat.
- Pour- in the beef broth in the pot and let it boil.
- Cook in low heat for 45 minutes or until the pork gets tender (add more water or in case the liquid starts drying out).
- Add the vinegar, wait for the liquid to re-boil, the stir.
- Put the string beans in the cooking pot and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add brown sugar, stir, and cook for another 5 to 8 minutes.
- Transfer your pork adobo to a serving bowl and serve, enjoy!
