No-Bake Steamed Chocolate Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all- purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 pc large egg
  • 1/2 cup & 2 tbsp fresh milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
For the Ganache (Choco Coating):
  • 1 cup all- purpose cream
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a small sauce pan, put- in the butter, sugar, and milk.
  2. Cook over low heat and stir together until sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a bowl, lightly beat the egg and add- in the vanilla.
  4. Add- in the butter- sugar mixture.
  5. Whisk together until combined.
  6. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the milk- egg mixture. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  8. Pour the cake batter into a cake pan and cover with foil.
  9. Place cake pan on top of the steamer and cover with a lid.
  10. Steam over medium heat for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Set aside to cool.
For the Ganache (Choco Coating):
  1. Scald the milk in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add the chocolate chunks and stir until chocolate has melted. Allow to cool
  3. Once cooled, pour the ganache all over the cake, making sure to glaze all sides.
  4. Let stand at room temperature to set. Enjoy!
