Ukoy Na Dulong Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 oz dulong (silver fish)
  • 2 cups mung bean sprouts
  • 1 & ½ cups cooking oil
For the Batter:
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Combine all the batter ingredients in a large mixing bowl then mix well until well incorporated.
  2. Add- in the dulong and mung bean sprouts.
  3. Gently stir until all ingredients are well blended.
  4. Pour and heat the cooking oil in a pan.
  5. Arrange ½ cup of mixture in a saucer (make sure the there is enough batter in the mixture).
  6. Once the oil gets hot, slide- in the mixture into the pan.
  7. Cook one side in medium heat until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  8. Turn over using a spatula then cook the other side the same way.
  9. Remove from the pan then transfer to a plate with paper towels.
  10. Repeat until all the mixture is consumed.
  11. Serve with spicy vinegar like sinamak. Enjoy!
