INGREDIENTS:
- 3 lbs pork spareribs, cut into 1 inch strips (have butcher cut these through the bones)
- ¼ cup flour
- 1/3 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ¾ cup water
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 3 inch ginger, smashed & sliced
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
HOW TO COOK:
- Cut the spareribs between the bones into bite size pieces then place in a large bowl.
- Add- in the soy sauce then mix.
- Add- in the flour then mix.
- Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Place the vinegar, water, brown sugar, and salt in a large pot. Set aside.
- Heat a wok or nonstick frying pan over medium high heat.
- Pour 2 to 3 tbsp cooking oil and gently brown the ginger and garlic.
- Remove and place in the pot with the sauce.
- Add- in ½ of the meat to the wok and spread out but don’t stir.
- Let it brown for 2 minutes.
- Using a tong, turn pieces to evenly brown.
- Remove pieces as they brown and add them to the pot.
- Cook the other ½ of the meat the same way then add to the pot.
- Stir to mix meat with the sauce.
- Place the pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
- Turn the heat down to low and let simmer, covered, for 1 hour or until tender (stir occasionally).
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
