Sinigang Na Lapu Lapu sa Miso Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs Lapu Lapu, cleaned and sliced
  • 10 pieces okra
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 large tomato, wedged
  • 12 pcs unripe tamarind
  • ¼ cup miso paste
  • 1 bunch of mustard leaves
  • 4 long green peppers
  • 6 cups water
  • Fish sauce (patis), to taste
  • ¾ cup daikon radish, sliced (optional)

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a cooking pot, pour the water and let it boil.
  2. Add the tamarind.
  3. Cover and continue to boil in medium heat for 40 minutes then let it cool down.
  4. Using a sieve, strain the boiled tamarind towards a clean cooking pot.
  5. Boil the liquid and then add tomato, onion and miso.
  6. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  7. Add the Lapu Lapu, daikon radish, okra, and peppers.
  8. Cover and cook for 12 to 15 minutes in low to medium heat.
  9. Pour- in the fish sauce and stir.
  10. Add the mustard leaves.
  11. Cover and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  12. Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
