INGREDIENTS:
- 2 lbs pork, sliced into 6x2x2 inch strips
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 & ½ tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp sherry or rhum
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soft brown sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
HOW TO COOK:
- Start by making the marinade.
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, sherry (or rhum), soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and oyster sauce.
- Stir all the ingredients then set aside.
- Place pork in a Ziploc (resealable bag) or a bowl then pour- in the marinade.
- Place inside the ref and marinate for a minimum of 12 hours.
- Preheat oven to 450 F or 232 C.
- Pour the boiling water in a roasting pan.
- Put a wire rack over the roasting pan and arrange the marinated pork (make sure that the pork does not touch the water).
- Roast for 16 minutes, and then baste with the remaining marinade.
- Turn the heat down to 325 F or 162 C and roast for 10 minutes.
- Add 1 tsp of water to the honey and mix.
- Baste the pork with the honey mixture and continue roasting for 5 minutes or until the pork turns brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool.
- Slice and then transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
