Try making your own Filipino- style doughnut or Pinoy Cheesy Donut. This recipe doesn’t involve using yeast so it’s really easy especially for those without bread-making background.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk or water
- 1 tbsp oil
HOW TO COOK:
- In a bowl, add in the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, then mix.
- Add evaporated milk and oil then mix well. Use clean hand to form a dough. Knead dough and sprinkle some flour if it’s too sticky.
- Cover the bowl and rest the dough for 30 minutes to form gluten.
- Dust dough mat with flour. Knead dough until elastic and smooth. Roll it into a log and cut into mini dough.
- Flatten dough and fill with cheese cube then shape into a ball. Rest dough filled with cheese for 10 minutes before frying.
- Fry in a preheated oil until golden brown over low heat. Then roll in sugar.
