Oven Baked Crispy Pata Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pc pork leg (pork pata)
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 12 pcs dried bay leaves
  • 2 pcs cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil (or cooking oil spray)

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F or 175 C.
  2. Arrange the pork leg in a baking tray lined with aluminum foil.
  3. Coat the leg with cooking oil rubbing all around (or use the cooking oil spray to coat).
  4. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the pork from the oven and let it cool down.
  6. Arrange the pork leg in a wide cooking pot.
  7. Pour- in the water and let it boil.
  8. Once the water starts to boil, add the onion powder, garlic, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
  9. Cover the pot and simmer for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the pork leg from the cooking pot.
  11. Let the liquid drip while the meat cools down.
  12. Make incisions on the pork leg so that seasonings can easily penetrate and gets absorbed.
  13. Arrange the pork leg on the same baking tray.
  14. Rub the salt and pepper all over the leg.
  15. Spray with cooking oil all over.
  16. Bake in the oven at 350 F or 175 C for 150 to 180 minutes.
  17. Remove from oven and serve. Enjoy!
