INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pc pork leg (pork pata)
- 8 cups water
- 1 tsp whole cloves
- 12 pcs dried bay leaves
- 2 pcs cinnamon sticks
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 4 tbsp cooking oil (or cooking oil spray)
HOW TO COOK:
- Preheat oven to 350 F or 175 C.
- Arrange the pork leg in a baking tray lined with aluminum foil.
- Coat the leg with cooking oil rubbing all around (or use the cooking oil spray to coat).
- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the pork from the oven and let it cool down.
- Arrange the pork leg in a wide cooking pot.
- Pour- in the water and let it boil.
- Once the water starts to boil, add the onion powder, garlic, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
- Cover the pot and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Remove the pork leg from the cooking pot.
- Let the liquid drip while the meat cools down.
- Make incisions on the pork leg so that seasonings can easily penetrate and gets absorbed.
- Arrange the pork leg on the same baking tray.
- Rub the salt and pepper all over the leg.
- Spray with cooking oil all over.
- Bake in the oven at 350 F or 175 C for 150 to 180 minutes.
- Remove from oven and serve. Enjoy!
