Korean Galbi/ Kalbi Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 & ½ to 3 lbs beef short ribs, sliced
  • 1 tbsp cooking rice wine
  • ¾ cups light soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Combining and stir together the soy sauce, garlic, sugars, rice wine, sesame oil, and chili powder in a bowl to make the marinade.
  2. Place the beef short ribs in a heavy duty freezer bag and pour in the marinade.
  3. Secure the freezer bag by sealing the edges (make sure to release all the air inside the bag before closing).
  4. Refrigerate the bag and marinate overnight.
  5. Prepare the grill and arrange the short ribs (reserve marinade for basting).
  6. Grill the short ribs for about 4 to 8 minutes per side (depending on the heat) while basting with the reserved marinade.
  7. Once done, place the short ribs in a serving plate. You may garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
