Learn how to cook delicious and nutritious Ginataang Manok With Turmeric. Don’t worry if you are not familiar cooking with coconut milk as we will use a ready to go seasoning mix!

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 kg chicken, cut into serving pieces
- ½ cup fresh turmeric, sliced
- 1 pack (20 g) Knorr Ginataang Gulay Mix
- 2 & ½ cups water
- 3 tbsp patis
- 1 cup sili leaves (you can also use malunggay or spinach in case you don’t have this)
- 1 medium- sized yellow onion, diced
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- ⅛ tsp crushed peppercorn
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 5 pcs siling labuyo (optional)
HOW TO COOK:
- Pour and heat the cooking oil in a pan.
- Once the oil becomes hot enough, add- in and sauté the garlic, onion, and fresh turmeric.
- Cook until the onion softens.
- Add- in the chicken and cook until all the sides turns light to medium brown.
- Pour- in 1 & ½ cups of the water then let it boil.
- Cover and continue to boil in medium heat for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the Knorr Ginataang Gulay mix with the remaining 1 cup of the water.
- Stir until well blended.
- Pour the mixture into the pan then let it boil.
- Add- in the crushed peppercorn and the optional siling labuyo then stir well.
- Cover and continue to cook until the sauce reduces to half.
- Add- in the sili leaves, then stir.
- Pour- in the patis, then stir and continue to cook uncovered for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate.
- Serve hot with rice. Enjoy!
