Ginataang Mais is a delicious, sweet Pinoy dessert. It resembles a liquid form of one of our favorite delicacies, Maja Blanca. But this dessert makes use of malagkit rice. Try making some today, see the recipe here:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup whole kernel corn
- 4 cups gata (coconut milk)
- ½ cup malagkit rice
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
HOW TO COOK:
- In a cooking pot, pour- in and combine the gata and malagkit rice.
- Turn on the heat and let the the mixture boil.
- Once the mixture is boiling, stir the mixture to prevent the glutinous rice from sticking.
- Set to low heat and let the rice cook while stirring once in awhile (this will take approximately 12 to 15 minutes).
- Add- in the whole kernel corn and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add- in the sugar and stir thoroughly.
- Cook for 2 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
