Ginataang Mais Recipe

Ginataang Mais is a delicious, sweet Pinoy dessert. It resembles a liquid form of one of our favorite delicacies, Maja Blanca. But this dessert makes use of malagkit rice. Try making some today, see the recipe here:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup whole kernel corn
  • 4 cups gata (coconut milk)
  • ½ cup malagkit rice
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a cooking pot, pour- in and combine the gata and malagkit rice.
  2. Turn on the heat and let the the mixture boil.
  3. Once the mixture is boiling, stir the mixture to prevent the glutinous rice from sticking.
  4. Set to low heat and let the rice cook while stirring once in awhile (this will take approximately 12 to 15 minutes).
  5. Add- in the whole kernel corn and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add- in the sugar and stir thoroughly.
  7. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
