Yakisoba is a classic Japanese stir fried noodles dish. It is known for its delicious sweet-salty taste. Usually, pork is mixed with the noodles, but let’s head to different take on the dish. Let’s make yummy Chicken Yakisoba! See the recipe here:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb boneless & skinless chicken breasts, sliced thinly into strips
- 1 pack (17 oz) fresh yakisoba noodles
- 1/2 onion, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 head cabbage, chopped (alternate: broccoli flowers)
- 1 large carrot, peeled and julienned
- 2 tbsp canola oil
For the Yakisoba Sauce:
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp sugar
HOW TO COOK:
- First, rinse the yakisoba noodles in hot water (refer to package instructions).
- Pour the canola oil in a wide skillet or a teppan grill.
- Apply medium- high heat on the oil.
- When the oil gets hot enough, add- in the chicken and cook, stirring regularly, until it begins to change color.
- Add- in the carrots and cook for about 10 to 15 seconds.
- Add- in the cabbage and continue to cook, stirring regularly, until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Add- in the noodles and yakisoba sauce (refer to instructions below).
- Gently stir until noodles are evenly coated with sauce and vegetables and meat are well distributed.
- Continue to cook, gently tossing together, until noodles are heated through and sauce begins to caramelize.
- Remove from heat and transfer to serving plates (optional: garnish with red pickled ginger and dried green seaweed). Enjoy!
For the Yakisoba Sauce:
- Combine, the Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, and sugar in a small bowl.
- Stir until well combined and sugar is dissolved.
