Bagis Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup calamansi juice
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 to 6 Thai chili peppers, minced
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil, for cooking

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan, over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and garlic and cook until limp.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.
  4. Add the fish sauce and allow to cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add the water and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the chili peppers, stirring to combine.
  7. Lower heat, cover and simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes or until beef is tender and liquid is almost absorbed.
  8. Add  the calamansi juice and continue to simmer for about 7 to 10 minutes.
  9. Season with salt, to taste.
  10. Remove from heat and transfer to serving plate. Enjoy!
