INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup calamansi juice
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 cup water
- 4 to 6 Thai chili peppers, minced
- 1 medium onion, peeled and diced
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
- salt, to taste
- 1 tbsp oil, for cooking
HOW TO COOK:
- Heat the oil in a pan, over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook until limp.
- Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.
- Add the fish sauce and allow to cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the water and bring to a boil.
- Add the chili peppers, stirring to combine.
- Lower heat, cover and simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes or until beef is tender and liquid is almost absorbed.
- Add the calamansi juice and continue to simmer for about 7 to 10 minutes.
- Season with salt, to taste.
- Remove from heat and transfer to serving plate. Enjoy!
