If you’re a sisig lover, the struggle is real when you restrain yourself from eating to much! Don’t worry, why not try out this healthy, guilt-free alternative– a sisig recipe made out of eggplant and three types of mushroom! Try it for yourself, here’s an easy to follow recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup talong, diced small
- 1 cup tengang daga, chopped
- 1 cup button mushrooms, diced small
- 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, chopped
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup red onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp liquid seasoning
- 1/4 cup calamansi juice
- 1/4 tsp betsin (msg)
- 2 pcs green chili fingers (siling pang-sigang), sliced
- 1 egg, Optional
- salt, to taste
- ground black pepper, to taste
HOW TO COOK:
- In a frying pan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic then saute until onions turn translucent.
- Add button mushrooms and tengang daga mushrooms then cook for 2 minutes.
- Add shiitake mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add soy sauce, liquid seasoning, and calamansi juice. Mix well.
- Add talong.
- Season with salt, pepper, and betsin.
- Cook for 5 minutes or until liquid has evaporated. Garnish with green chilies.
- Serve and enjoy!
