Sarciadong Manok Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into parts
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 3 cups tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp patis (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 & 1/2 tbsp garlic, chopped
  • 1 & 1/2 tbsp onion, chopped
  • 2 pcs laurel/ bay leaf
  • 2 tbsp canola oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Pour and heat the oil in a pot over medium heat.
  2. When the oil is hot enough, sauté the onions, garlic, laurel leaves, and tomatoes until tomatoes are softened.
  3. Add- in the tomato paste and continue to sauté for a minute.
  4. Pour- in the patis and add the chicken.
  5. Cook the chicken for 3 to 4 minutes while turning the pieces.
  6. Pour- in in the water and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked.
  7. Add- in the green peas in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  8. Season to taste then remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
