Easy Pork Ginataan (with Squash and String Beans) Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 & ½ lbs pork, cubed
  • 1 small butternut squash, cubed
  • 1 small bundle of string beans, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 & ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • ¼ cup bagoong
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 & ½ tsp garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • Salt, to taste (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Pour and heat the cooking oil in a pot.
  2. Once the oil gets hot, saute the garlic and onion.
  3. Stir- in the ground black pepper.
  4. Stir- in the pork then cook the pork until the color turns light brown.
  5. Pour- in the beef broth in the cooking pot then let it boil.
  6. Pour- in the coconut milk then stir and allow to boil once more
  7. Cover and cook in low to medium heat until the pork gets tender.
  8. Add the squash then stir, cover, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
  9. Add the shrimp paste then stir.
  10. Add the string beans then cover and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  11. Taste then add salt only if needed.
  12. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
