Buttermilk Fried Chicken Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all- purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken and buttermilk then mix well.
  2. Place the mixture inside the refrigerator and marinate overnight.
  3. In a bowl, combine the all- purpose flour, salt, and ground black pepper then mix well.
  4. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture, fully coat, then set aside.
  5. Pour and heat the cooking oil in a frying pan.
  6. When the oil is hot enough, pan fry the chicken for 3 to 5 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer the semi- fried chicken in a baking tray.
  8. Preheat the oven to 400 F or 205 C.
  9. Bake the chicken for 30 minutes then reduce the heat to 350 F or 175 C and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes.
  10. Turn off the oven and transfer the chicken to a serving plate. Enjoy!
