Beef Pochero Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs beef sirloin, cubed
  • 3 pcs chorizo, thinly sliced
  • ½ medium cabbage, quartered
  • 1 bunch Bok choy (or pechay)
  • 15 pcs long green beans
  • 1 medium potato, cubed
  • 2 large saba bananas, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 1 cup garbanzos
  • 1 medium sized onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp whole peppercorn
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 3 cups water

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a pot, pour and heat oil.
  2. Fry the bananas until color turns golden brown. Set aside.
  3. Put in the chorizo in the same pot and fry for about 3 to 5 minutes. Set aside.
  4. Sauté the garlic, onion, and tomato.
  5. Add the beef and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the fish sauce, tomato sauce, and whole peppercorn and mix well.
  7. Add the water and simmer until meat is tender.
  8. Add the fried chorizo, fried banana, potato, and garbanzos and simmer for 7 minutes.
  9. Add the cabbage and long green beans then simmer for 5 minutes.
  10. Add the bok choy and turn off the heat.
  11. Cover the pot for 5 minutes.
  12. Transfer to serving plate and serve hot. Enjoy!
