Black Gulaman Drink Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can of black gulaman (grass jelly)
  • 6 cups of water (for syrup)
  • 4 cups of dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 750 ml ice cold water

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Start by making a simple syrup (arnibal).
  2. Place the 6 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  3. When it comes to a boil, add the 4 cups of brown sugar.
  4. Stir the mixture continuously until the sugar dissolved.
  5. While stirring, simmer until the mixture thickens. Let it cool.
  6. Once cool, add about one and a half cup of the syrup into a pitcher with the 750 ml cold water.
  7. Add in the vanilla extract and stir well.
  8. Cut the black gulaman into small thin cubes and add into the pitcher.
  9. Best served cold and enjoy!
