Easy Nilasing Na Tilapia Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

Nilasing na Tilapia Recipe

  • 1 pc tilapia, scales and innards removed
  • ¾ cup cooking wine (sherry or shaoxing)
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup all- purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp coarse sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 & ½ cups cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Prepare the tilapia by seasoning both sides with salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Make sure to rub all over the fish including the cavity.
  3. Arrange the tilapia in a deep plate.
  4. Pour the cooking wine over the tilapia and marinate each side for 15 minutes.
  5. Combine the cornstarch and flour in a resealable bag and shake well.
  6. Put the marinated tilapia in the bag and shake until it is coated with the flour and cornstarch mixture. Set aside.
  7. In a cooking pan, start heating the cooking oil.
  8. Once the cooking oil gets hot, gently fry one side of the tilapia in medium heat until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  9. Turn the fish over to cook the opposite side.
  10. Remove the tilapia from the pan and put in a plate lined with paper towel. Enjoy!
