Ginataang Fried Tilapia Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 to 2 pcs fried tilapia
  • 2 cups coconut milk (gata)
  • 2 cups malunggay leaves
  • 2 to 3 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
  • 5 cloved garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced
  • 2 thumbs ginger, chopped
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 pc banana pepper
  • 3 pcs chili peppers (optional)

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Pour oil in a cooking pot and start heating.
  2. Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger.
  3. Pour the coconut milk (gata) in the pot and let it boil.
  4. Add the banana pepper and the fried tilapia.
  5. Cover and cook in low heat for 15 minutes.
  6. Add chili peppers and fish sauce and stir.
  7. Turn the fish over and over the pot, then continue to cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Add the malunggay leaves and cook for 5 to 8 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
