Easy KFC-Style Gravy Recipe

KFC Gravy Recipe

Ever came across a delicious fried chicken but the gravy isn’t just good enough? What a bummer, right? Fried chicken and gravy just perfectly go together and both of them should equally be yummy!

I’m sure we all love KFC’s Gravy. I remember flooding my fried chicken, as well as my rice, from the fast food’s gravy dispenser. I think they already removed access to that dispenser because of the likes of me. Haha.

With this KFC gravy recipe, we will remake the taste of our favorite gravy. And it’s actually easy to do! So this time, we get to have as much as we want! Learn how to make this today, see here:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pc chicken cube or 2 tsp chicken powder
  • 1 pc beef cube or 2 tsp beef powder
  • 3 tbsp butter or vegetable shortening
  • 5 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2  1/4 cups water

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Make a broth by diluting the beef and chicken cubes in water. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter by heating it in a saucepan under low heat.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to the melted butter.
  4. Cook in low heat while continuously stirring for 7 to 8 minutes or until the color turns medium brown (be extra cautious, there is a tendency that the flour might burn when overcooked or if high heat is applied).
  5. Add the remaining flour and continue stirring.
  6. Gradually add the chicken and beef broth while continuously stirring to prevent lumps from forming.
  7. Put the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a boil.
  8. Cook for another 5 minutes more while stirring once in a while, until the texture thickens.
  9. Serve hot with fried chicken or mashed potato.
  10. Share and enjoy!
